More Fun Than I Thought

Well, when you're wrong, you're wrong. I was wrong. We had a lot more fun than I thought we would in the snow today. We ended up getting more snow in the afternoon and so we headed to the hill. It was hysterical! Another life lesson: enjoy what you get and you might find that there is more to enjoy than you originally thought.

Today is a perfect example of thinking that something would be ok or tolerable that ended up being great. Sometimes we miss out on great people, opportunities, and deep spiritual moments because we assume the worst. God hides treasures in ordinary boxes. I got one today. Asher loved sledding. He just didn't like stoppying;-)

Glad you got to enjoy the snow. “God hides treasures in ordinary boxes” caught my attention.
There is an ordinary looking Bible on my desk and as I ponder these words, I realize that in it are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge and understanding. In its pages are hidden the very thoughts and desires of the God of this Universe. In it are the plans and promises of God, His directives for our lives, the knowledge of His unfailing love, His justice, His mercy, His holiness, His goodness, His grace. Here we find truth and life and peace and encouragement. We find forgiveness. In its few pages is found not only our history but also our present and our future. In its every word is hidden the Word of God, who was made flesh. For all this extraordinary treasure the book is so ordinary looking . . . .
