It makes me think of what they thought of Jesus. You know... the Son of God.
The Scripture said he wasn't real good looking and people didn't think much of Him.
Isaiah 53:2-3 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
People made fun of Him for the town he was from.
John 1:46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.
He wasn't the most educated guy either.
Matthew 21:23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”
He took away the sins of the world.
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Well said. I also like to add something. My wife and I watched "Extreme Home Makeover" last weekend. A young Chineese girl in this particular family was adopted and also happens to be blind. Her adopted father, whom she loves dearly, was currently on his deathbed. When asked what she wanted by the crew she replied with the desire to have the entire Holy Bible on braille. To date, she only had half of the Bible. By the end of the show you learn she got her wish and was so excited from it.
Most would look at this small girl and judge that she is sweet and that it is unfortunate she is blind. However, I see her as a giant. This little, unassuming girl expressed her faith on national television.
Wow! This video was amazing and truly brought me to tears. I love these moments when God truly sends us the unexpected. He has a few surprises up his sleeve and knows when to pull them out just at the right moment for His blessings. The comparison truly helps us to close our eyes, open our hearts, and just humbly reap His gifts. Help us, oh Lord, to look beyond the facade into the heart of you!
